Microbial Consortium HJ-SH with Very High Degradation Efficiency of Phenanthrene
نویسندگان
چکیده
Phenanthrene (PHE) is one of the model compounds polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). In this study, a natural PHE-degrading microbial consortium, named HJ-SH, with very high degradation efficiency was isolated from soil exposed to long-term PHE contamination. The results GC analysis showed that consortium HJ-SH degraded 98% 100 mg/L in 3 days and 93% 1000 5 days, an higher than any other consortia, even most engineered strains consortia reported so far. Seven dominating were SH-1 SH-7, which identified according morphological observation 16S rDNA sequencing as Pseudomonas sp., Stenotrophomonas Delftia Brevundimonas Curtobacterium Microbacterium respectively. Among all seven single strains, SH-4 strongest ability, had biggest contribution. However, it interesting can hold its ability only co-existence these strains. Moreover, exhibited tolerance for PHE, up 4.5 g/L, degrade some typical organic pollutants such biphenyl, anthracene, n-hexadecane ratios 93%, 92% 70%, respectively, under initial concentration days. Then, we constructed artificial HJ-7 consisting SH-7. After comparing ratios, cell growth, relative rates, concluded easier reproducibility, better application stability, larger room modification largely replace HJ-SH. conclusion, research provided novel tools new insights bioremediation using consortia.

Atrazine degradation by anaerobic mixed culture microorganism in co-metabolic process and in absence of external carbon and nitrogen source was studied at influent atrazine concentration range of 0.5-15 mg/l. Wastewater of desired characteristic was prepared by the addition of various constituents in distilled water spiked with atrazine. In co-metabolic process, dextrose of various concentratio...
متن کاملMethyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) degradation by a microbial consortium.
The widespread use of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) as a gasoline additive has resulted in a large number of cases of groundwater contamination. Bioremediation is often proposed as the most promising alternative after treatment. However, MTBE biodegradation appears to be quite different from the biodegradation of usual gasoline contaminants such as benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene (B...
